How the FitFix Gallery Works

A gallery is one of the most useful things a new client can see before booking, because it shows how the work actually looks on a real garment rather than how it is described in text. That makes it worth doing properly, and doing it properly means two things. First, every photo has to be of a real job completed at our workshop. Second, every photo has to have been published with the permission of the client who owns the item, or the client's face and personal details have to be genuinely absent from the photo.

The FitFix photo policy

We publish photos on this page and on our Instagram account only when three conditions are met.

  • The photo shows work completed at FitFix, on a real client's item.
  • The client has agreed to have the photo published on the website or on our Instagram.
  • Where the item is a bridal gown, a uniform or any identifiable garment, the photo does not identify the wearer, the wedding, the venue, the family or the client's home.

If any of those conditions is not met, the photo stays internal. That includes before-and-after photos where the client has not agreed, bridal photos that identify the wearer, and any photo we cannot trace back to a specific job at our workshop.

What we do not do

  • We do not use stock photography on this page or on any other page of this site.
  • We do not use AI generated images, filters or edits that change how the work actually looks.
  • We do not use another business's photos and claim them as our own.
  • We do not publish photos that identify a client without their explicit agreement.

Why the Gallery Grows Slowly

If we chased photos the way most businesses do, this page could be filled in a week with hundreds of images. We do not, for the same reason the reviews page grows slowly. Most FitFix clients prefer their garments and leather goods to stay private. Brides in particular do not want their wedding dress or their wedding date in the public record. Diplomatic and expatriate households do not want their residence identified in a photograph. Clients in sensitive professions do not want to be associated with a public gallery at all. Those are the clients who make up a large share of our work in Nairobi, and respecting their preference is more important to us than a full gallery page.

Where a client does agree to have a job published, we take the photo carefully. We photograph the item, not the client. We photograph the finished work, not the venue or the home. Where the work crosses a specific seam, we take a close-up so the client reading this page can see exactly how the seam line sits. That is the photo that matters, and it is the reason the gallery below is organised by category rather than by date or by volume.

What We Photograph

Photos are organised into nine categories that match the services on the site. Each category below shows what the work looks like and how to request a photo of a specific job before you book.

1. Suit alterations

Jacket sleeve shortening, waist suppression, shoulder reduction, jacket lengthening, trouser hemming and trouser waist work. Photos in this category are the easiest for us to publish because the client is a working adult who owns the suit and often has no reason to keep it private.

Shirt hem, sleeve and waist work, polo and T-shirt alterations, trouser hem and taper, chino, jeans, shorts, cargo and track pant work. These are our highest-volume jobs and the photos show clear before-and-after comparisons where the client has agreed.

3. Bridal and formal wear alterations

Wedding gown hem, bodice rebuild, corsetry, bustle construction, lining replacement and full restorations. Bridal photos are the most restricted category because they identify the wearer if published carelessly. Where a bride agrees to publication, we photograph the dress on a mannequin or hanging, describe the alteration on the page, and never identify the bride or the wedding.

Visit the Workshop in Person

The single best alternative to a photo gallery is to visit the workshop and see the work in progress. FitFix is a working workshop in Industrial Area, Nairobi, P.O. Box 6262-00100, and clients are welcome to visit by appointment. Most clients do not need to — the free pickup handles everything and the work is delivered back — but if seeing the bench, the materials and the finished items in person would help you decide, we are happy to arrange a visit.

During a visit, you can see completed jobs on the bench, look at the leather being worked on, see the thread and hardware we use, and discuss your specific item with David directly.
